Unfortunately my style/voice is no where near as picture painting as Vonnegut's style, but than again I don't try to be something I'm not. Since middle school, my papers/essays/etc. were written with a tone of sophistication compared to my age. I remember in 8th grade that my test results came back showing that my reading level/vocabulary level was that of an 11th grader in high school or something along those lines. Whenever I would write, I would write in a very intellectual way that basically sounded like I was talking in a "research topic" sort of way. I guess my style/voice is not very unique and rather generic. When I write I actually do think about my style in the sense I try to make my papers sound very formal and intelligently spoken. My style really doesn't change depending on the audience unless my audiences age group changes drastically for example a paper I write for a professor/teacher/etc. cannot have the same vocabulary and formal writing as a short story/paper written to cater to children as my audience. So in that sense my writing style does change fairly noticeably. Also if I write persuasive essays I tend to bring more of "my voice" into the paper rather than sounding as if I'm talking in a third person formal sort of a way.
