No, I dont think that men and women are viewed the same in the media. If you think about magazines, women have extremely different magazines than men do and vice versa. Womens magazines advertise perfumes, tampons, and womens medications and mens magazines advertise male enhancement, cigarettes, and sports related interests. I feel the media is very fashion oriented when it comes to girls and not so much when it comes to guys. Men and woman are viewed differently because they are usually compared with different things. Woman predominately are on the gardening channel where men dominate sports channels and SPIKE. Men and woman I would say are viewed equally, they are just compared to vastly different things because of the different stereotypes between men and woman.
