Reality TV Show

My Reality Show would be upfront hardcore reality, it would titled The Life and Death of a Marine. It would deal with a platoon of marine soldiers and their life in Iraq or Afghanistan. While documentaries have been done before on soldiers in wartime, this will truly go into things documentaries don't do the life of a soldier: what they do for fun, what they are doing when they are not on patrol, and just the background antics you don't see on documentaries. The cameramen would follow the troops everywhere, during the firefights you would see EVERYTHING, you would see deaths and people getting shot and dieing. It wouldn't be scripted in anyway, the characters would be a real platoon located with a battalion of marine soldiers and it would depict their life. Also another camera crew would be interviewing the family members of those soldiers and you would hear life stories and how they got to where they are. Obviously, due to the sensitive nature somethings would have to be censored (military information, identities of dead civilians/enemy combatants, and their locations could not be revealed) but other than that it would show you the other side to a soldier, you would see that thy aren't just guys who kill but also human beings who have a personality and make jokes.

Due to the violence and nature of my show it would probably have to air on a cable channel that can adequately portray the show such as HBO. This would allow the show to be what it is destined to be, a hardcore upfront reality of a soldier, every aspect of his life you will see. The range of emotions and events they have to deal with will all be there.
