journal 6 selling out
I think that the media plays a big role in shaping people's opinions about what looks good and what does not. The media puts pressure on men and women to look the same way the ideal man or woman looks. The media has created its own perception of the ideal and attractive man and woman that is pretty much accepted all over the world. it is natural for humans to want to look good and be attractive so they follow what the media portrays as the ideal way to look. Men and women both have to deal with trying to fit in with what is considered normal by the media. today, it is considered attractive by most people to be lean, muscular and in shape and the media uses this to make money. there have been many businesses that have tried to take advantage of people wanting to get in shape. Diet plans, restaurants, gyms and many other things advertise to people who are trying to get in shape and become fit. I think it effects men and women equally, there is pressure on both of them to look their best but i think women let it affect them more. Men probably are more likely to let themselves get out of shape and not care than women but the pressure is still on them both.
